Examples of inspiring applications of social technology abound, and due to the fast paced nature of development, social innovators are leveraging the best ideas today to set about changing some of the most entrenched social systems. Let’s start with some Canadian social technology leaders and hear their thoughts on the opportunity to take your learning to the next level.

In this video, Kirstin Beardsley from CanadaHelps.org highlights where social technology and fundraising intersect—and how non-profits can engage their constituents, work on their mission and inspire philanthropy. Matt Thompson, Chief Storyteller at the Mozilla Foundation discusses social technology with regard to advocacy and social movements and Peter Deitz, CEO of GrantBook probes the opportunity social technology offers to be more open and collaborative in program creation and implementation.

The first Innoweave learning module focused on a theory called Platformation, developed by Framework and supported by McConnell. Platformation serves as an online resource for members of the charitable sector interested in implementing free and low-cost online and mobile technology into their IT infrastructure.  For more on Platformation, connect with them here.

Note: A complete list of all SiG educational resources can be found in our publicly-available document library. We hope you’ve found this curated pathway to learning in social technology helpful.
